| Kandi area farmers hold interaction with SKUAST scientists | | |

Jammu, July 3: Farmers from Kandi and irrigated areas today had interaction with the scientists of SKUAST-I at a pre-season workshop for Kharif-2009 jointly organized by dry land research sub-station Rakh Dhiansar and directorate of extension education of Agriculture University.
During the interaction farmers were given instruction for various agro-techniques suited to rain fed farming for the successful cultivation of field and fruit crops. Prof (Dr) A.K. Razdan stressed upon sowing of early maturing varieties of maize, while Vikas Gupta scientists agronomy suggested farmers about various techniques used in successful cultivation of maize, moong, bean, soyabean etc. Dr. V.S. Verma asked farmers to grow Kharif season crops like maize, moong, mash etc in their areas.
