Jammu, Aug 16: Shalimar traders association organized an impressive function in connection to celebrate the 63rd Independence Day at Shalamar Park, Shalamar road here today. State Bhartiya Janta party chief and MLA Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest who unfurled the national flag.
Speaking on the occasion Khajuria threw light on the importance of the day and paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid their lives during freedom struggle to get the nation free and british rule. The function was presided over by the president of the association Sardar Jaswinder Singh. The function was also addressed by Ravi Rohmetra, Daljeet Singh, Shekhar Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Dharminder Gupta and Lavinder Singh Puri on the occasion the sweets were distributed among the gathering.
