| BD voices demand for recovery of ancient Idol | | Govt fails to solve theft mystery, alleges Rakesh Sharma | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 26- Protesting against the theft of centuries old idol of ‘Bal Asht Dashbuja’ from Mahakali temple at historic Parna Mandir in Chingam area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district, the Bajrang Dal (BD)activists has accused the government of its failure in tracing out the culprits. Raising slogans against the State Government for failing to recover idol which was stolen in December 2008, the protesters burnt the effigy State Government in order to show anger over this issue. “It was a matter of shame that idols of ‘Bal Asht Dashbuja’ worth crores of rupees had been stolen from Kishtwar by some miscreants who had broken open the locks of the temple and stole the ancient idols of Hindus, which was a monument of Indian nation”, said Rakesh Sharma, City Convenor, Bajrang Dal. ‘The State Government totally failed to trace out the ancient idol back’, he said and demanded immediate steps in tracing out this idol. He warned that in case the Government failed to recover the ‘Murti’ and punish the guilty, the BD will be forced to launch agitation as idol is the ancient monument of Indian culture and matter of faith and religion of Hindus. Among others who participated in the protest were Co-Convenor Kapil Kohli, Neeraj, Amit and several others.
