| Chairman, CCB takes stock of secretaries | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 26: Mohinder Singh, Chairman Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Limited Jammu took an introductory meeting with secretaries of primary agriculture credit socities of block Marh, Khour, Akhnoor and Bhalwal at Karan Nagar aknoor road, Jammu today. The secretaries preset I the meeting apprised chairman that due to failure of monsoon in the country, the problems of the farming community have aggravated many a folds, as a result where of, it would definitely affect the recovery prospects. The representatives of the societies are of the strong view that the government should come for the rescue of the farmers and their loans should waived off so that the poor farmers are saved from the interest burden. A demand was also made for enhancement of honorarium of the secretaries of the societies as the honorarium at present being paid to them did not commensurate to their work. Mohinder Singh, Chairman while speaking on the occasion apprised the secretaries present in the meeting that government has already taken steps for revival of defunct societies by implementing the Vaidayanathan Committee report, on which vigorous exercise has been undertaken by the government in collaboration with NABARD. He advised the secretaries to make concrete efforts and ensuring recoveries of the banks loan so that their societies come I the ambit of Vaidyanathan Scheme and maximum benefits are involved of the societies.
