| Symposium on Environment at GCW Parade | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 27- Directorate of Environment, Ecology and Remote Sensing Jammu in collaboration with Science Club GCW Parade, Jammu organized a symposium cum plantation drive at GCW Parade here today. Principal Dr. Savitri Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Deputy Soil Conservator Romesh Sharma spoke about global warming and emphasized the need for massive plantation to lessen the effects of global warming. Prof. Uma Sharma, Rajshah Prabhari, Patanjali Yog Samiti J&K briefed about the benefits of Indian Herbs and Medicinal plants. Earlier the students expressed their views on various environment related topics such as Global Warming, Swine Flu, Natural Resources, importance of microbes etc. Dr. Savitri Sharma, Principal gave away prizes and certificates to the participants. She appreciated Prof. Ravinder Chadha, Convenor and other members of the club for organizing the symposium. Priya Anand clinched the first prize while Ruchi Sharma and Shivani secured 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. The program concluded with vote of thanks presented by Prof. B.B Sharma.
