| Special cells to check H1N1 among Vaishno Devi pilgrims | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 18 : In the wake of heavy rush of pilgrims from across the country visiting Vaishno Devi to pay obeisance at holy shrine during nine-day long navratra festival, the state health department has set up special cells to keep a check on swine flu symptoms among pilgrims reaching Katra base camp in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. ‘’To ensure healthy pilgrimage, special cells have been constituted at Katra to check swine flu symptoms among the pilgrims as a heavy rush is expected in the town to trek 13-km track to Bhawan during navratras,’’ Sham Lal, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health told UNI on the phone. The Minister however, said from May onwards, the surveillance teams in the state are on toes and actively keeping watch on the cases of H1N1 pandemic. ‘’The camps are already functional at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, Airport and Lakhanpur but keeping in view an instant rise in number of pilgrims due to navaratras beginning tomorrow, two swine flu check up centres have been put in place at Numayee and Ban Ganga en route Bhawan,’’ the Minister added.In all, 21 cases of swine flu have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir.
