| Employees warn of another agitation | | JCC announces statewide peaceful protests on Dec 23 | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15- Maintaining that Government is not sincere towards its commitment made with the employees, Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) has decided to hold peaceful protest demonstration on December 23 at Shalimar Chowk in Jammu. This was informed by Abdul Qayyom Wani, member of JCC while addressing media persons here today. He said similar demonstrations will be held at Divisional Commissioner’s Office Srinagar and at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Leh and Kargil on the same day where they would decide next course of action. He said as per the agreement with Joint Consultative Committee on August 18 last, government had assured that all the conceded demands were to be settled before October 31, 2009 but it has miserably failed in its commitment. He added that JCC reminded the Government many times of its promises and asked it to fulfill its word but nothing substantial came out till date. “It appears that the Government is not sincere towards its commitment and its cold attitude compelled this organization once again to adopt the agitational path”, Wani said, adding, it has been unanimously decided by the leaders of JCC to hold peaceful protest demonstration on December 23 across the State. “In case the Government, does not implement the Agreement it shall have to face the wrath of the employees and new year shall prove very harsh for the Government for which the entire responsibility shall squarely lie on it,”, Wani asserted. He appealed the Government employees to participate in peaceful protest to press the Government to concede their demands. Khurshid Aalam, Jagmohan Sadotra, Jaswant Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Shabir Ahmed Langoo, Amreek Singh, Bashir Ahmed Ganie were also present at the press conference.
