| YNC convention in Rajouri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Jan 12- Pledging to retain bastion of National Conference in the land of kings, Youth National Conference District President Shafqat Mir on Tuesday organized an impressive youth convention of the party in which Ministers of State Nasir Aslam Wani and Javed Ahmed Dar participated. The convention was also attended by Ratan Lal Gupta Provincial President of National Conference besides Bimla Luthra, MLA. More than 1000 youth delegates cutting across castes and creeds participated in it. Main objective of the youth convention was to strengthen the position of National Conference in the area and took the stock of the achievements of Omar Abdullah led National Conference government. Terming the convention as historic, Minister of State for Revenue and Public Health Engineering Department Nasir Aslam Wani said that Shafqat Mir is emerging a strong youth leader in this border district and he has impressed them by organizing such a huge gathering of delegates. He said that National Conference government has given employment package to the unemployed youth which is historic step taken by any Chief Minister after the Independence of India. “This shows the seriousness of Omar Abdullah in curtaining unemployment problem in the state”, he said. Suggesting youth to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah in order to take the state on the track of development, Javed Dar said that the power stick is presently in the hand of a young Omar Abdullah and he is striving hard for mitigating the problems of the youths. Earlier welcoming the guests, organizer of the convention Shafqat Mir gave a detailed account of the achievements of National Conference government. He said that the government has taken historic steps for the welfare of the people of Jammu & Kashmir especially youth and it become possible because the reign rested in the hands of young Chief Minister. “Omar Abdullah wants to restructure the state and for this, we need public support”, he added. NC youth leader pledged to strengthen the party in Rajouri and said that after taking over the reign from Governor, Chief Minister has done tremendous job in reviving all the departments of the state and this is evident with the fact that development is seen on ground by the people. Seeking government support for the development of Rajouri, Shafqat Mir said that the area needs special attention of government towards health, roads, public health engineering, tourism, agriculture, education and power sectors and ministers should release sufficient funds for the development of this region. On his request, both the ministers extended full support to him in developing the area. Provincial Youth President of National Conference Surinder Singh Banti, Provincial Vice President Ayoub Malik, Zahoor Bhat, Dulfi, Vikrant, Dilshad Malik, Tanveer Wani and Sajad Batt were other NC leaders who spoke on the occasion.
