Two projects inaugurated under "Operation Sadbhawana" | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 18: The 47 Air Defence Regiment, under the aegis of 611 (Independent) Air Defence Brigade inaugurated two projects at village Dhandal in Ramnagar Tehsil of district Udhampur under 'Operation Sadbhawana' in a function held today. These projects included an 'Irrigation Scheme' at the cost of rupees ten lakhs, resuscitation of five ailing natural springs, construction of two 'Water Collection Chambers' and creation of a concrete water channel network. The handout issued by the Army said that the ambitious project has made a qualitative difference in the lives of the villagers and has led to effective utilization of water, most of which was earlier going waste. The function was attended by over 200 villagers and school children. The Sarpanch of the area Ajit Singh expressed deep gratitude and satisfaction on the modern infrastructure having been provided to the village under 'Operation Sadbhawana'. He hoped continued support and assistance of the Army in the future also. Brigadier Davis PP, Commander 611(Independent) Air Defence Brigade, while dedicating the projects to the villagers, underlined the importance of civil-military relations and stressed that the village must maintain these projects to derive their benefits for a long time to come. The Government High School where the Army had earlier constructed classrooms, boundary wall, toilets and a community hall, was facing acute problems due to irregular power supply and fluctuations. A 17 KVA three phase servo transformer has now been installed at the school which provides stabilized power supply, especially to the computer lab, also earlier provisioned by the Army.
