JKNPP championed the cause of deprived classes: Harsh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAMNAGAR, May 14:The inhabitants, prominent notables and SC/ST organizations of Ramnagar accorded reception to Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) working chairman and MLA Harsh Dev Singh for his contributions for the cause of the people of the state in general and Ramnagar constituency in particular. The function in particular was organized to felicitate Harsh Dev Singh for the Amendment moved by him in the Inter District Recruitment Bill. Addressing the rally, Harsh Dev Singh reiterated his resolve to continue his struggle for development of Ramnagar as model constituency of the state. He renewed his pledge to work for amelioration of the lot of deprived and downtrodden and to ensure justice to all sections of society. Harsh Dev described the acceptance of the proposal mooted by him and the passage of the amendment in the Inter District Recruitment Bill as monumental and historical. He said that the Panthers Party had again proved itself as the champion of the oppressed and deprived sections of the society by moving the said Amendment and thereby assuring justice not only to the scheduled castes but to the people of Jammu in general. He said the Bill passed in amended form would ensure eight percent reservation to SCs in all districts of the state including ten districts of Kashmir valley and two districts of Ladakh. He further informed the gathering that he was the only member of the PM's fifth working group, who had raised the issue of political reservation for Scheduled Tribes including Gujjars, Bakarwals and Gaddies during the course of deliberations of the said working group in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, MLA and state president JKNPP Balwant Singh Mankotia along with general secretary and MLA Yashpal Kundal reiterated the resolve of the party to continue their struggle for the cause of people in general and for weaker and deprived sections in particular.
