Suspension of CEO SASB demanded | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 14: Launching a scathing attack on the working of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Shri Amarnath Yatra Welfare Orgnaisation (SAYWO) has urged the Governor N N Vohra, who is also the Chairman of the Board to appoint a "competent officer" replacing existing CEO to ensure smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage. In a letter to the Governor, Rajinder Sharma, national president of the organization cited "uncooperative behavior" of the CEO RK Goyal. In his recent communication addressed to the Governor, he has flagged off the issue of non-cooperation of RK Goyal with the NGO's and other socio religious organisations engaged in the task of extending langar facilities to the pilgrims en route yatra. Sharma said, "we wanted to hold through discussions with Goyal over variety of issues linked with the smooth conduct of the yatra but his behaviour has vitiated the atmosphere and has also hurt the sentiments of the common people by staying aloof to concern raised by him." Raising another issue of relocation of langars from their allocated spaces, the national president has called upon the Governor to review the decision taken by the Board to shift the langars to some other location which entails an additional burden of raising basic infrastructure. The NGO has also urged the Governor to waive off the condition of mandatory police verification of 'sewadars' attached with the langar committees and exemption from any tax or toll tax for NGO's setting up langars for the pilgrims.
