| SSCAP holds dharna, block road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 14: Continuing its protest against the deployment of police on Jammu University campus, the student community under the banner of Students Scholars Committee Against Police (SSCAP) staged dharna on road in front of the varsity.
The students and scholars including girls boycotted their classes and held demonstration by blocking main road for at least two hours.
Protesting students shouted slogans against University authorities and demanded immediate removal of police personnel from the campus.
Laying down at the road, the agitating students alleged that the Vice Chancellor is arrogant and adamant towards student community and responsible for the alleged harassment of students at the hands of police personnel deployed in the campus. One of the girl students while addressing the media put a question mark on JU authorities that why they have been maintaining silence over the matter.
The students appeal the civil society to come with us and support over this genuine issue and create pressure regarding this issue.
