| VOJ presents challan in disproportionate assets case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 14: Vigilance Organization Jammu presented challan against Mohinder Lal then Incharge Range Officer IWDP Thadapani Sunderbani who allegedly possessed assets disproportionate to his known source of income by rupees more than 18 lacs.
Case of Vigilance Organization states that Mohinder Lal Range Officer in IWDP has raised huge assets in shape of moveable-immovable properties in his and his relative name. A secret enquiry was conducted wherein VOJ found that Mohinder Lal has constructed two houses each at Sair Bhawani and Nowshera and number of shops in Nowshera town. He also purchased a plot of land. He owns number of vehicles including bus, two tippers, wagnor car etc, mostly of these moveable-immovable assets acquired through corrupt and illegitimate means or in name of his close relatives. He also has bank deposits besides other assets. The enquiry revealed that he has raised most of these assets during period of his posting at forest in Tehsil Nowshera/Sunderbani where he indulged in large scale corrupt practices. The value of these assets is estimated for beyond the known source of income and a case u/s 5(1) (e) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 BK and after completion of the investigation today CPO presented challan in Court of Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
