| Jagriti Manch to Govt. 'Issue only one certificate to OBC people' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 14: The members of OBC Jagriti Manch have welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to conduct the census on caste basis for OBC people. Addressing the member of the Manch Madan Lal Chlotra said that the state government should also make a separate column of OBC people in the current ongoing census of the state so that exact population of their OBC people is ascertained. The members also hailed the recent decision of Supreme court of India wherein a directive was issued to the Govt. for reservation of OBC people of municipality and panchayat elections and accordingly the people of these communities has requested the state Govt. to implement the decision in the J&K state also so that these deprived castes could get their share in these institutions. The Manch has also appealed to the State Govt. for issuing only one certificate for OBC peoples for applying in the state jobs or in the Central Govt. jobs which is not being presently done by the state Govt. the other members who participated in the meeting are B.B.Bhatti, Bharat Bushan, Khadim Hussain, Girdhari Lal, Bua Ditta, Tara chand, Gyan Chand, Prem Lal, Rattan lal, Romesh Lal, Satpal and Hem Raj Gandhi.
