| SFDCC organises Gurmat Samagam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, May 14: In connection with the Tercen-tenary celebrations of the Victory of Sirhind by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Sirhind Fateh Divas Celebration Com-mittee (SFDCC) organised a Gurmat Samagam at Gurudwara Singh Sabha here today. The function was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjeet Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib (Poonch) in which number of Raagis, Dha-dies, Katha Wachakas especially sent by the Guru-dwara Prabandhak Committee, Delhi participated. Addressing the Sikh Sngat from Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri and Samba Mahant Manjeet Singh threw light on the life, sacrifices and achievements of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur who was a native of Rajouri. After seeking blessings of Guru Gobind Singh Banda Singh fought bravely against Mughals and conquered Sirhind (Punjab) and established Sikh Raj, he added. Manjeet Singh said that people of Jammu and Kashmir and particularly of Rajouri, Poonch are proud of the fact that the great general and the first King of Sikh rule belong to Rajouri. He also advised the youth to shun drugs and become good citizens to serve the humanity.
