Jediians put up thrilling themes at Fashion Fiesta 2010

Jammu, May 14: A perfect amalgam of art and blend is the core theme of Jediians who have embarked upon ambitious plan of providing novel and accessible approach to the potential customers in the fashion buying.
Buying the idea from different smart markets of Indian metro cities the Jammuites who were the part and parcel of the fashion event had come up with thrilling themes to showcase their talent through drapery and fabric that was for display at Kala Kender.
Entitled as Fashion Fiesta 2010, it is a three-day annual exhibition cum sale by JD Fashion Institute that kick started in this process at Kala Kender.
The Fashion Fiesta 2010 was inaugurated by Shireen Waraich, convenor FWO Tiger Division, Jammu who was the chief guest while Ruby Sandhu deputy convenor FWO Tiger Division and Dr Poonam Dhawan were guest of honour.
The objects created by the students of all the courses were exhibited and put up on sale.
On the display were designer dresses, kurtis, skirts, suits, trousers, T-Shirts painted and designed by Jediians.
The theme of the exhibition was Street Fashion and each of the stall was designed by taking inspiration from various flee markets in India like Bentinck street (Kolkota), Janpath (Delhi), Sarojni Nagar (Delhi), Mount Road (Chennai), Fashion street (Mumbai), Crawford market (Mumbai), Flee market (Goa) as the whole experience was of shopping from Jammu’s very own fashion street.
Besides these the interior department displayed items like designer clay pots, wall clocks, mosaics tile paintings designer glass table tops, tyre sittings, lamps, key holders etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Shireen Waraich highlighted appreciative of the students efforts and said that students had put a lot of hard work to come up with such wonderful creations.
Maansi Gupta, centre director of JD Institute Jammu centre said, “JD’s high academic standards have always made it easier for the graduates to get high profile and relevant jobs in a very competitive market”. “The industry has come to look upon JD as a provider of fresh and genuine talent year after year in not just fashion industry but interior design, jewellery design”, she added.
A large number of school students were also came in the Fashion Fiesta 2010.
