Student stabbed at Kachi Chawni | | | JAMMU: A Ranbir Higher Secondary School student was today stabbed by his two classmates and their as many accomplices in what seems to be a case of a love triangle at the ever-busy Library Chowk, Kachi Chawni, here under police nose. The place where the incident occured is predominantly occupied by traffic police personnel and cops from Pucca Danga police station. Pawan Preet Singh, an 11th class student of Ranbir School, was going home in a minibus after taking his tuition classes when the accused -- Simhab Hussain alias Raju of Chhani Himmat, his brother Saddam Hussain and their two unidentified accomplices -- appeared on the scene. Police sources said they stopped the minibus at Library Chowk and dragged Pawan out. They allegedly inflicted serious stab wounds on him with sharp-edged weapons, the sources added. Sources said Pawan was stabbed in the presence of cops, but they failed to prevent the occurrence of the crime by their timely intervention and also failed to lay hands on the accused, who fled the spot. Pawan was admitted to the GMC Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. A love triangle seemed to the reason behind the incident, the sources added, saying raids were being conducted to apprehend the accused. Simhab and Saddam are the sons of retired police Inspector Ahmad Hussain.
