| Legal Metrology books 17 traders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15: A team of officers of Legal Metrology Department conducted surprise checking in various areas of Jammu city and Akhnoor. During the checking, about 30 establishments were inspected in which 17 traders were booked under different provisions of Weights and Measures Act.
On complaint of overcharging on cold drinks at cinema theatre, the team booked canteen of Shakuntala theatre for selling soft drink at the rate of Rs 17 instead of market price of Rs 12.
One juice industry was also booked for smudging MRP on the package and all deceptive packages were seized.
