| CCI Jammu holds interaction with IT deptt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 15: Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Jammu today organised an interactive session between members of Executive Comm-ittee and the Income Tax Department.
B L Razdan, Director General Income Tax, Chandigarh, G R. Sofi Chief Commissioner Income Tax Amritsar, T P Singh, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, K K Mittal, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, Deputy Commissioner Satish K Sharma and Officers of Income Tax Department represented the Income Tax department. Prominent members of CCI Jammu who attended the meeting included Y V Sharma, President, Tara Chand Gupta, senior vice president, Ram Sarup Gupta, junior vice president, Satish Gupta, secretary general, Manish Gupta, secretary, Deepak Aggarwal, treasurer, Vijay Aggarwal former president, Ramesh Chander Gupta, former president and Prithvi Raj Gupta, former secretary general.
The members CCI Jammu highlighted various problems being faced by the industrialists and traders of Jammu which includes failure of Income Tax Department in granting credit for Advance Tax paid as Tax Deduction at Source (TDS), out sourcing of processing of Income Tax Returns, exemption of Income Tax on Excise Refund to SSI Units, the honouring of Income Tax payees by the department, extension for filing of returns during the Amarnath Yatra agitation for the assessment year 2009-2010, acceptance of Income Tax, Advance Tax by all nationalized banks, sparse use of provision of survey and raids, assesses waiting rooms for assesses in the Income Tax Building.
As per the press statement, B L Razdan and G.R. Sofi while taking part in the deliberation assured that all those issues which fall within their respective purview would be addressed to at the earliest and for other issues the Central Board of Direct Taxes and the Union Finance Ministry would be approached for issuance of necessary orders at the earliest.
