Forester in vigilance net | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 17: A deputy forester was today arrested by the state vigilance organisation (SVO) in an alleged case of bribery. The accused Tariq Irshad of Shah Faisal Lane, Srinagar, was posted as deputy forester in Doodh Ganga range at Chadoora. He was allegedly caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from Abdul Sattar Ittoo of Ranger, Chadoora, for renewing the licence of his timber sale depot, SVO sources said. A trap was laid to apprehend the deputy forester after a complaint was lodged with SVO by Ittoo. Irshad was booked under section 5(2) of the prevention of corruption Act, 2006, read with section 161 of RPC, the sources added.
