Dy CM listens to people's grievances | Summer Secretariat at Jammu | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 17: To facilitate early redressal of grievance of the people of winter capital Dy. Chief Minister Tara Chand, on the first day of the summer secretariat today, received a large number of deputations at the Jammu secretariat. He would be available to the masses at the Civil Secretariat Jammu for the whole week. Addressing the deputations, Tara Chand reiterated the resolve of the present coalition government to provide equal opportunities to all the three regions of the state in respect of developmental activities. He said that the opening of Summer Secretariat at Jammu is one of the steps in this direction as one Minister shall remain available here to listen to the grievances of the masses on rotational basis during next six months. On the opening day of summer secretariat here, various deputations from Gole Gujral, New Plots, Channi Himmat, R.S Pura, Kathua and Talab Tillo met with the Dy CM and apprised him of their problems. Deputations put forth various demands of their respective areas, which include construction of lanes and drains, provisions for adequate drinking water and un-interrupted power supply. Deputation from Gol Gujral, led by Gopal Singh, apprised the DY CM about a matter related with the land, whereas deputation from Newplots brought the attention of Deputy Chief Minister towards incomplete community hall in their locality. Similarly, a deputation from Channi Himmat demanded installation of new street lights in the locality. Another deputation from Kathua demanded early repair of roads and lanes and drains of Kathua. Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all the deputations and assured them that all their problems will be looked into. He also issued on the spot directions to the concerned authorities for the earliest possible redressal of the matters put forth by the deputations. Taking serious note of some complaints received by DY CM concerning Jammu Municipal Corpora-tion, he directed the concerned authorities to immediately place under suspension the persons responsible for the lapses.
