| JK Public wins U-17 kabaddi title | | Inter-school meet of Udhampur zone concludes | |

UDHAMPUR, May 17: JK Public Higher Secondary School Udhampur lifted the under-17 boys' kabaddi title in the two-day annual inter-school (boys and girls) competitions of Udhampur zone which concluded today at Mini Stadium, here.
In the final, JK Public trounced City High School Udhampur 27-19. Final was officiated by Vijay Kumar, Naveen Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Rakesh Modi, Raman Kumar, Rakesh Sawhney and Pushap Kumar. Over 600 boys and girls, drawn from 33 institutions, took part in these competitions held in under-14 and under-17 year categories. Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Balwant Singh Mankotia was chief guest in the final and concluding function while Chief Education Officer (CEO) presided. District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSS), Rajinder Singh was guest of honour.
The chief guest gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also distributed other individual prizes. Vote of thanks was presented by Principal of the host Higher Secondary School (Boys) Udhampur, Hans Raj Sharma.
Among others present were Pritam Kotwal, ex. Assistant Director, all Principals and Headmasters of the schools falling in Zone Udhampur and Zonal Physical Education Officers including Pawan Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Ravi Singh Jaswal, Subash Chander, Jaswinder Singh, Som Dev Khajuria, Raj Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar and Vinod Khajuria. This tournament was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of Bushan Sethi, Zonal Physical Education Officer Udhampur.
