Rs 159.63 cr. spent on CSS during last fiscal: Madan

Jammu, May 18: A whooping sum of Rs 159.63 Crore has been expended under various centrally sponsored schemes ( CSS) in Jammu District during last financial year.
This include an amount of Rs 60.88 crore spend under 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th phase of Pradhan Manti Gram Sadak Yojna The information was given at first meeting of District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee of Jammu.
Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma, who is the chairman of the committee, presided. MLAs of Jammu District, Mr Ashok Khajuria, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Jugal Kishore and Ashwani Kumar, besides District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Director RGGVY, Additional DC, CPO and other members of the Committee attended the meeting.
Besides taking stock of achievements of all Rural Development Centrally sponsored schemes, the meeting deliberated upon various innovative and multi-pronged strategies to make the implementation of these vital schemes more cohesive and effective. The meeting also emphasized the need of formulation of need based new schemes after detailed consultation with the local MLAs and other public representatives of the various areas of the district.
The schemes reviewed in the meeting included MGNREGA, IAY, SGSY, Rural Electrification works under RGGVY, PMGSY, IGNOAPS, IGNWPS and IGNDPS under NSAP,
Presenting a detailed break up of these schemes, the DDC informed the meeting that under different phases of PMGSY, Rs. 60.88 crore have been spent on construction and upgradation of several roads in the Jammu Division so far.
