| 4 day police remand for forester, guard | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May, 20 :The court of Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu DC Sagotra today granted four day police remand of forester Shamas Din and Khem Raj Forest Guard of forest Dept Bani. The duo was caught red-handed by a VOJ team while demanding and accepting bribe from complainant Sher Singh Dungal Bani. The complainant submitted before the VOJ that both the accused harassed the complainant by leveling charges of setting the forest on fire which caused immense loss to state exchequer. The complainant was allegedly threatened of legal action incase he failed to pay Rs 2000 to the accused. Accordingly a case was registered u/s 5 (2) J&K PC Act and section 161, 120-B RPC. The duo was caught red handed while accepting the bribe. ---JNF
