Samba faces acute K oil shortage
5/21/2010 12:41:30 AM

JAMMU: The Samba district is faced with acute shortage of kerosene oil for the past nearly one month.
All the depots, run by consumer affairs and public distribution department (CAPD), are locked as they do not have kerosene oil to sell.
Some depot owners alleged that CAPD officials demanded extra money from them for releasing kerosene oil-filled tankers in their favour.
The money was being demanded in the name of a senior CAPD officer, they alleged.
Since dealers refused to pay the extra money as bribe, the CAPD officials refused to release the oil.
The Samba residents said if adequate quantity of oil was not made available to them at the earliest, they would be forced to adopt the agitational path.
