Muslim federation expresses grief over bus accidents at Rajouri, Reasi. | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 22: the President Muslim federation Abdul Majid have expressed shock and grief over the tragic bus accidents at Reasi and Rajouri killing more than 24 passengers and 80 others were injured as per press release Majid has said that increasing incidents of road accidents require an immediate transport policy ensuring the safety of the passengers at the earliest. He said in far flung areas most of the accidents are taking place due to over crowding and rush of passengers on account of less number of transport vehicles. And added that the state transport authority and state road transport corporation must ensue that in view of increasing demands of private transport in far flung areas the number of passengers' busses is increased and their frequency be increased to avoid over crowding due to insufficient numbers of busses. It is unfortunate that after these tragic incidents no long term policy is framed so that such incidents are minimized. President Muslim federation has expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of the victims and has impressed upon the state Govt. to pay Rs five lacs as compensations to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs two lacs to those who have suffered serious injuries. He has also demanded that specialized treatment at the expenses of the state govt. should be given to the injured people who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals.
