Kotwal reviews traffic scenario in Jammu

JAMMU, May 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal today convened a meeting to discuss measures for improving the traffic scenario in Jammu
The meeting discussed issues related to construction of by-passes, diversions, subways, bridges and flyovers in different areas of Jammu. Major issues dealt were four laming of road from Kunjwani to T.V. Tower near Nagbani where construction has started under CRF. The outer 25 KM road will use 4th bridge on River Tawi.
Widening of Gujjar Nagar road was also discussed and Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned authority to prepare a project report regarding construction of a bridge behind DC complex to New Era Public School, widening of B. C. Road and related issues like land acquisition, shifting of utilities, construction etc were also discussed.
By passing of traffic from Jewel head to Canal head, widening of road from Ambphalla to Janipur and preparation of feasibility report regarding this project was also discussed.
In addition, installation of traffic signal system on busy and intersecting roads of Jammu city also came up for discussion.
Construction of multi-storey parking sheds, parking spaces, construction of bus stand at Raipur Domana, improvement of General Bus stand, idle parking were also discussed . Present in the meeting were Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, M. K. Dwivedi, Chief Engineer (R&B), D. L. Sharma, Commissioner, JMC, Mubarak Singh, RTO Jammu, J. S. Manhas, Director ERA Vinod Sharma, VC JDA, Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, SP City, Randeep Kumar and Dy SP Traffic Manjit Kour.
