Accused may be on June 26

JAMMU: Owing to lawyers' strike, the court of Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu adjourned the much publicized Amandeep murder case. The case shall come up for hearing on June 26.
When the case came up for hearing today all the accused including Jatinder Singh alias Raja, Royal Singh, then SSP Jammu Manohar Singh, then SHO Gandhi Nagar Sultan Mirza, then Sub-Inspector Satnam Singh, Sarwar Singh Hussain Bukhari former Ballastic Expert FSL, Constable Raj Singh, Choudhary Nagar Singh, Rakesh Singh were produced whereas Choudhary Jagar Singh who was granted interim bail by the High Court was also present.
The court was all set to hear arguments from the state and the defense to decide whether the accused could be charged under section 302 RPC or not. However, owing to lawyers' strike, the case was adjourned.
It may be recalled that the on August 29, 2009 Amandeep Singh son of Former MLC & Advocate presently PDP Leader Deepinder Kour was murdered. The main accused Jatinder Singh Choudhary Nagar Singh was arrested on August 30, 2009. Soon after the another accused Royal Singh was also arrested. The weapon of offence was also recovered from him.
It was alleged that the weapon of offence was changed by Choudhary brothers in connivance of the with the police officers and FSL officials. All the police officials & FSL officials were arrested for tampering evidence whereas Choudhary brothers surrendered before the Court on November 17, 2009. However, on May 3, 2010 one of them, Choudhary Jagar Singh was granted interim bail by the State High Court and others namely Choduhary Nagar Singh and Rakesh Singh filed the bail application before the Supreme Court which is fixed for hearing in the first week of July. The application of the then SHO and then Sub Inspector is listed on May 25, 2010 before the State High Court for final hearing. SSP Manohar Singh has not moved to high Court after his bail application was rejected by the Principal Sessions Judge Jammu. JNF
