Mid day meal food poor in quality: JJSF | | | EARLY TIMES REORT JAMMU, May 23: Jammu Joint Students' Federation (JJSF) has alleged that quality of food served to school children under the mid day meal scheme in government schools is poor in quality. Addressing media persons here today, JJSF leader Thakur Varinder Singh said that a sound and balanced diet for a young student is very necessary for his physical and mental development but the meal which is given to the students under mid day meal scheme hasn't sufficient nutrition Singh alleged that the diet which is given to the students contain so many adulterated food particles which give rise to several diseases adding that this scheme isn't implemented properly in many schools particularly in rural areas. He demanded from the government to implement the mid day meal scheme in a proper manner and warned that if it fails to do the needful then JJSF would not hesitate to take extreme steps. Referring to the proposed tax on langar parties meant for Amarnath yatra, JJSF leader alleged that government is playing dirty in the name of tax. He demanded roll back of tax being imposed on food stall to be set up for Amarnath pilgrimage.
