India, Pak should turn new leaf in relations: Tarigami
5/23/2010 11:32:27 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, May 23: Jammu and Kashmir unit of Communist Party of India (M) today urged India and Pakistan to reverse the "self-destructive" path and take bold initiatives to address the vexed Kashmir issue.
"New Delhi and Islamabad must make serious efforts to turn a new leaf in their relations, for this, the leadership has to exhibit will and capacity to move forward", state Secretary of the party Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami said addressing a public meeting at Ashmuji, 70 km from here in Kulgam district.
He said "rigidities" must be replaced by "flexibilities" and both the countries should realise that the partisan interests do not complicate the issues further.
Tarigami cautioned that the continued hostilities between the two countries will be dangerous signal for instability in the sub-continent.
"We must realise that alienation is not going to go by only holding elections."
