JAMMU, May 23: A day long womens conference organized by Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha was held here today. In the conference speakers apprise the women present on the occasion about their duties an rights in democratic setup of the government.
The main agenda of the conference was to eradicate social eves prevailing in the society with the women folk. Women speakers condemned the act of deliberate aborting of female foetus by some orthodox women in the society which is an act against the women by the women. Besides the evils of dowry system were also condemned as it is the cause of trouble between in-laws and daughter-in-law.
President of sabha, Puran Chargotra chaired the conference, while vice chairman of OBC advisory board Kuldeepraj Sharma was the chief guest and retd distt session judge Harbans Lal was guest of honour on the occasion.
