Omar expresses shock over Khan's killing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 23: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has condemned the brutal killing of President, Sopore Beopar Mandal, Gh. Nabi Khan at Sopore today. Calling late Khan as a popular tradesman and sincere human being, Omar said that the deceased would be remembered for his great contribution in uniting various traders' federations and maintaining harmony among various sections of the society. Calling this act as barbaric and cowardly, Omar said that those forces who are not happy with the peace and tranquility of the State have ugly agenda to target the popular personalities like Khan. He hoped that all who believe in Human rights will unanimously condemn this killing. Praying for peace for the departed soul, Omar expressed his heart-felt sympathies with the bereaved family. Meanwhile, Minister for Rural Development, Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar, along with the Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister of State for Health, R&B, Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister of State for Housing, Nasir Aslam Wani, ex-Minister and MLA Handwara Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, MLA Sopore Haji Mohammad Ashraf visited the residence of the slain NC leader and President Traders Federation Sopore Ghulam Nani Khan, who was killed unidentified gunman today Sagar said that it is a handiwork of those elements that do not want peace and stability in the state and are out to kill innocent and respectable people. He further said that being president of Traders Federation Sopore, Khan was most popular among the people of the area and always projected the cause of the trader's fraternity. Sagar further said that Khan was philanthropist who always advocated the cause of the poor and downtrodden people and created a niche for himself in the political and social circles of the valley. Speaker legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone also highlighted the role of Khan in the socio-political and economical circles of the valley and said that he always championed the cause of poor, downtrodden strata of the society The ministers, legislators also threw light on the contribution of Khan and said that these types of acts are highly condemnable. Minister of State for Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani, has condemned the killing of president of Sopore Beopar Mandal, Gh Nabi khan, who was killed by unidentified gunman at Sopore today. In his condolence message, Nasir said that Khan was the upright businessman and always worked for the upliftment of business community. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
