Slathia inaugurates new school block | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SAMBA, May 23: Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia today conducted extensive tour of various parts of his home constituency Vijaypur and took stock of developmental works. The Minister visited inaugurated Ramgarh, Nandpur and Chhowani areas where he addressed series of public meetings. District Development Commissioner, Samba, Saurbh Bhagat, SSP Samba, Raghuvir Singh and other district officers accompanied the Minister during his tour. At Khour Salarian in Ramgarh area, the Minister inaugurated newly constructed block at local Government Middle School constructed at a cost of Rs.6.60 lakh under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). Later, addressing a gathering, Slathia called upon the parents to send their wards in government schools as these have highly qualified staff, besides facilities being provided to the students under various schemes including, Mid Day Meal, scholarship, free books and uniform and other study materials. The Minister also called upon the people to extend their cooperation in the implementation of the developmental projects. He said people's participation in implementation of schemes was imperative for ensuring quality and need based development. Slathia also directed Executive Engineer PWD to install high mast lights in the premises of Government Middle School Khour, Salarian for the convenience of students. At Chhowani, the Minister inspected newly constructed lanes and drains completed at a cost of Rs.2 lakh. He also congratulated people of the area for the upgradation of middle school to high school level. Responding to the local demands, the Minister announced that work on purposed community hall for at Chhowani would be started shortly. The minister said that 60 to 70 percent work on development of Nandpur as model town has already been completed and remaining work would be taken up as soon as adequate funds for the works are made available to the executing agencies. He said Nandpur would soon become centre of trade and business activities as it is centrally located and can cater to vast adjoining areas.
