| JPPF discusses various issues concerning Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 23: A meeting of Jammu Province People's Forum (JPPF)- an amalgam of more than fifty organizations of the region was organized here today. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Ravi Dass Sabha Jammu, Piran Ditta to deliberate upon various pertinent issues viz appointment of local Vice Chancellor for Central University (CU) Jammu, imposition of illegal 'jazia' on langar parties of Amarnath Yatra and various other issues of discrimination with this region.
Paviter Singh(Retd Judge), Er M S Katoch, Capt Anil Gour, Inderjit Khajuria, Rajesh Kesari, Virender Gupta, Sanjay Raina, Dev Raj Baru, Jagdish Chander Sharma, Dev Raj Sharma and various other speakers while speaking on the occasion expressed grave concern on the delay tactics being adopted by union government for not clearing its stand on the issue of local Vice Chancellor for CU. The speakers also condemned the move of the state government for imposing 'jazia' on the langars meant for Amarnath Yatries and termed it as a deliberate move to sabotage the Yatra. They appealed the government to review the decision and removing this unjustified 'jazia'.
