CS reviews arrangements for QBR in J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 24: To finalize the arrangements regarding Queen’s Batan Relay (QBR) scheduled to enter the State of J&K on 28th of June, the Chief Secretary S S Kapur convened a meeting of State Level Committee recently constituted by the Government for making necessary arrangements for QBR, here today. The relay is an eight-month multinational platform for showcasing the Country and calls on the best Athletes of Common Wealth to participate in Delhi-2010 Games. The Chief Secretary held threadbare deliberations regarding the arrangements for the Relay in the meeting and directed for making adequate arrangements for the QBR being received on 28th of June at Jammu, on June 29 at Srinagar, June 30 at Kargil and July 1 and 2 at Leh. The QBR crew will leave from Leh for Chandigarh on July 3. The Administrative Secretary, Technical Education and Youth Service and Sports, Bashir Ahmad Runiyal, who is the nodal officer, Common Wealth Games briefed the Chief Secretary about the arrangements being made for QBR in the State. The Additional Director General, Common Wealth Games, QBR, Lt. General Raj Kadyan presented power point presentation about QBR on t he occasion. The State Level Committee identified the routes for the QBR to be followed through the cities of Jammu, Srinagar and towns of Kargil and Leh. It was decided in the meeting that the J&K Academy of Art, Cultre and Languages will ensure cultural programmes highlighting the diverse culture of the State at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh.
