Ruhullah inaugurates Khidmat Education Services

SRINAGAR, May 24: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Science Technology and Information Technology Departments, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi launched Khidmat Education Services (KES) at SKICC today. The service is being introduced by J&K Bank.
The Chairman, J&K Bank, Dr. Haseeb Drabu, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Prof. V. N Raja Shekharan Pillai and Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Riyaz Punjabi, Commissioner/Secretary, Information Technology, Atul Duloo, besides, Director, School Education, Kashmir Mtr. Shagufta Parveen and senior officer of J&K Board of School Education, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination, J&K Bank and IGNOU were present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion, the Minister lauded the initiative being taken up by J&K Bank for serving the people of the State in various fields by introducing modern schemes. He said, besides being a commercial institute, J&K Bank is also provides financial assistance to the needy. The Minister said that CSC would also help in bridging the gap between Rural and Urban areas by empowering villages, besides will help in generation of employment, digitalization of data, tele-medicine and dissemination of information regarding various spheres of life.
Highlighting the services being rendered by the Khidmat Centres, Dr. Drabu said that Trust would provide the services including Financial, Education, Health, and value added services across the State.
He said under the G2C services, the Khidmat centres portal is presently linked to Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell for online submission of public grievances. He said the centres would also be connected with all other departments to facilitate the people of the State. He said that Khidmat Education Service has a large network of over 1100 outlets to provide quality education and related services to rural students at their door steps.
Later, the Bank signed Memorandum of Understanding with leading educational institutions including IGNOU, KU, J&K BOSE and J&K BOPEE.
Riyaz Punjabi, Prof. Rajashakaran Pillai also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the CSC.
