EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 24:
State Secretary CPI (M), Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, hailed the dialogue offer to the separatists by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today. He was addressing a party convention of District Shopian unit at Srinagar. Describing the offer timely, Tarigami appealed all parties to come forward and join the talks. He urged upon the Government of India to devise credible mechanism for making the dialogue process sustainable and result oriented. It is through the sustained process of dialogue at different levels which can lead us to a solution, which can ensure peace in the whole of the region, State Secretary CPI (M) observed. He said that heavier responsibilities fall upon the Kashmiri leadership to avail of this opportunity. The process of dialogue may not be an easy task, but the political leadership of the state must demonstrate its capacity to come-out with a suitable roadmap for Kashmir, Tarigami added. While addressing the convention general Secretary J&K Kisan Tehreek, G N Malik demanded immediate compensation to the growers whose fruit crop has been damaged due to recent hailstorm in some parts of the state.
