| BAJ aghast over threats | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, MAY-24 (JNF):- Bar Association Jammu has taken serious note of threats received by one of its members, Advocate Shakeel Ahmad. Shakeel has been threatened of dire consequences incase he conducted a particular contempt matter in Srinagar wing of the Jammu Kashmir high court.
President Bar Association Jammu, Adv Sunil Sethi said the threats were aimed at preventing the Bar members from appearing in Srinagar courts. “Such cheap methods adversely affect cordial relations between bar associations”, he said.
Sethi has urged the Director General of Police to take stern action in the matter to ensure safety and security of advocates from Jammu appearing in Kashmir. “The efforts to vitiate the atmosphere and to scuttle the judicial process by threatening advocates are deplorable and will not be tolerated by the Bar Association Jammu”, he said.
