Cabinet accords release of 8% DA to employees, pensioners
R&B Division at Sumbal sanctioned, LoI Ratle Project given to Hyderabad based company

JAMMU, May 24: The State Cabinet today accorded sanction to release of January 2010 installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) at the rate of 8 per cent of pay raising the total Dearness Allowance payable with effect from January 1, 2010 from 27 percent to 35 percent of pay to the State Government employees including work charges/whole time contingent paid employees working on regular time scale.
The DA accumulation with effect from January, 2010 to June 30, 2010 shall be credited into the respective G P Fund Accounts of the employees. Thereafter, the enhanced D.A. installment shall be payable in cash along with the salary of the July 2010. This will apply mutatis-mutandis in case of all India Service Officers serving in connection with affairs of the State.
The Cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah also decided that the DA arrears with effect from January, 2010 to June 30, 2010 in favour of the State Government employees covered under New Pension Scheme and those retiring within the next six months shall be paid in cash.
Release of January 2010 DA installment at the rate of 8 percent of Pension/Family Pension raising the DA payable with effect from January 1, 2010 from 27 percent to 35 percent of Pension/Family Pension to State Pensioners/Family Pensioners. The DA arrears payable from January 2010 to June 30, 2010 in favour of the Pensioners and Family Pensioners shall be paid in cash.
In another decision, the cabinet accorded sanction to the establishment of new R&B Division at Sumbal and creation of two Superintending Engineers one each for Ganderbal and Bandipora districts and Pulwama, Shopian districts along-with supporting staff.
The cabinet also accorded sanction to the payment of claim amounting to Rs 25.40lakh for reimbursement to the J&K Tourism Development Corporation on account of providing boarding facility to the officers/officials of 'Raj Bhawan at Zethyar by the JKTDC during the year 1995-1996 to 1998-1999.
The cabinet also confirmed Director General of Police's (DGP's) proposal for augmenting of main power in SKPA Udhampur, PTS, Kathua, PTS Manigam and regularization of PTI Vijaypur, STC Sheree and STC Talwara.
The cabinet also authorized the Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited to issue the Letter of Intent (LOI) to the successful bidder namely M/S GVK Development Projects Private Limited (GVKDPPL) for development of the 690 MW Ratle Hydro Electric Project and also authorized the Administrative Secretary of Power Development Department to sign the Power Purchase Agreement with the seller.
