Jalmeria condoles demise of BD Thakur

JAMMU , May 25: Advocate State president of Kisan Sabha Hari Chand Jalmeria has expressed great shock over the sad untimely demise of retired Distt. and Sessions Judge Bishan Dass Thakur. Born at distant village Dhaggar, 25 kilometers away from Bani, Thakur made his mark in the judiciary by dint of his honesty & hard work. He was the first judicial officer of that hilly landlocked area.
After his retirement, BD Thakur participated in the movements for creation of colleges in Billawar, Bani and Basohli and for creation of District for that area. Being basically a farmer, he had great passion for peasantry. He became Chairman of the Kisan Sabha and used to join struggles launched by the Sabha.
The Kisan Sabha feels greatly shocked over his demise. Jalmeria, longwith retired Sessions Judge Ch. Vidya Sagar and Dr. PS Andotra, visited his house, joined cremation and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
