DDC Ramban reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 25: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban convened a meeting of the Officers of Civil Administration, Police, Army and CRPF and discussed the arrangements regarding smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra which is going to start on July 1 2010. As per the press statement issued, the meeting discussed the operation of free langers, providing of various facilities at the langer sites, display of flexes and banners at the specified locations, security arrangements at the Langer sites, maintenance of hygienic conditions, patrolling of National Highway and security arrangements at the community halls, various shelter sheds to be used for halt-age of Yatries in case of emergency. Deputy Commissioner, Ramban K.B Magotra, issued instructions to the Police that sufficient number of security personals may be stationed permanently at each Langer site besides normal patrolling along the highway. A team of officers headed by Chief Medical Officer, Ramban would carry out regular checking of langers to ensure good hygienic food for the Yatries. He also directed traffic officials that there should not be any traffic jam on National Highway. They would ensure the proper regulation of traffic. The Army and Para-military forces were asked to provide security cover.
