| DIHAR Leh bags 'Innovation for India Awards' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 25: Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) Leh, Ladakh has been conferred with a very prestigious award "Innovation for India Awards 2010'.
The 'Innovation for India Awards 2010', instituted by the Marico Innovation Foundation, honours the achievements of a multitude of ingenious minds, behind 'India's Best Innovations'.
DIHAR, Leh-Ladakh which is making a significant contributions in Ladakh for the past so many years thus bringing about a positive change in the life of Ladakhi people, was awarded with prestigious award for its breakthrough innovation under 'Public Service Category' in recognition of its immense contributions in agro-animal technologies for the troops and civil population of cold desert Ladakh region.
Dr. Shashi Bala Singh, Director DIHAR received a trophy and cash prize of Rs one lakh in the award ceremony that was held couple of days back at Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Eminent guest speakers on the award ceremony include Sam Pitroda, Advisor to Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations, and Rajan Mittal, Managing Director, Bharti Enterprises along with other dignitaries.
