Ceasefire violated on IB, BJF man hurt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 25: Two days after enemy guns echoed in KG sector of Poonch, ceasefire was today violated on the International Border (IB), with the Pak Rangers resorting to unprovoked fire in Bobiya area of Hiranagar in Kathua, resulting in injuries to a BSF headconstable. A BSF spokesman said BSF personnel had laid an ambush near their Bobiya border outpost (BoP) when they came under heavy fire from the Pakistani side at about 5.45 am. In the firing, headconstable Anchal Singh sustained injuries in the neck and on the thigh. He was admitted to hospital. The spokesman said BSF personnel retaliated. The exchange of fire between the two sides last few minutes, he added. Police sources, however, said it could be a cover fire by the Rangers to push militants into the Indian territory. It was also yet to be ascertained if the Rangers were involved in the firing, or it was an act of militants, who had entered Bobiya and then fled back after attacking the BSF personnel, the sources added.
