KATHUA, May 26: In the ongoing inter-zone competitions of Kathua district, events in girls section started today at Sports Stadium, Hiranagar in two age groups of under-14 and under-17 under the overall supervision of DYSSO Kathua, Kanchan Bala and Kiran jyoti ZPEO Hiranagar. Today’s Results: KABADDI U-14 yrs: Sallan zone beat Marheen zone by 14 points to lift the title. Semifinals: Sallan Zone beat Kathua Zone by 13 points and Marheen Zone beat Hiranagar Zone by 14 points. KHO-KHO U-14 yrs: Sallan zone won the final beating Lakhanpur zone by an innings and one point. Semi-finals: Lakhnapur Zone beat Kathua Zone by five points and Sallan Zone beat Marheen Zone by 11 points. VOLLEYBALL U-17 yrs: Hiranagar zone lifted the winners trophy beating Marheen zone 2-1. Semi-finals: Hiranagar Zone beat Malher Zone 25-1, 25-7. Marheen Zone beat Kathua Zone in the straight sets 25-7, 25-3.
