Timber traders to boycott auction | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 26: The association of timber industries in a meeting chaired by its president Th.Jai Singh has flayed the state forest corporation (SFC) redressing the discount rate form 9.5% to 5% and also reducing lifting period to 30 days from 60 days, beside raising ground rent to rupees tax. Singh further said that the revised auction notices have totally ignored the interests of timber traders. SSI units and saw mill owners, who are dependent on SFC for rural of timber requirements to run their trade and livelihood. He said association is not satisfied with the newly drafted circulation, traders have unanimously resolved to boycott all the auctions scheduled to the hold on May 26, 28 and 31, unclear old conditions are not made operative. The ATI president also discussed matter with the general Manager (S&M) SFC and appraised huri trader's views.
