| Shun appeasement policy on separatists and anti-nationals: JSM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 26: Jammu State Morcha urged the centre govt to stop ignoring the Jammu and shun appeasement policy on separatists and anti-nationals Stated Capt Anil Gour, vice president and spokesperson while addressing the media persons.
"It's surprised to see the approach of Central Govt to the problems of J&K State as it appears that for the UPA Govt, all the problems of this state are only confined to Kashmir Valley and other regions of Jammu and Ladakh do not have any problems whatsoever to be addressed as they are enjoying peace and prosperity in plentiful'said Anil.
He further said that this approach has been made amply clear by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his press conference held recently on 24 May 2010.
'The political voice of Jammu has been usurped by surreptitiously increasing the seats of Kashmir region. Section 50 of J&K Constitution has already provided 14 elected MLCs to Jammu Region as against 12 elected MLCs to Kashmir Region in the Legislative Council. It is quite strange that the Legislative Assembly has 09 less seats for this region thus ensuring that the political voice of Jammu region is buried forever. In Jammu region on an average one assembly segment represents 710 Sq.Km area with 73 thousands voters whereas in Kashmir it has 346 Sq.Km. area and 55 thousand voters', he mentioned.
He demanded the creation of at least 4 more Districts in Jammu Province immediately, to ensure equitable development & provide employment avenues to the youth of Jammu region and appealed Centre to give Jammu due attention and equal treatment as par with Kashmir region.
Chandra Uday Sharma, Devinder Singh Jamwal, general secretaries, Surjit Singh, Secretary, Vijay Sharma Incharge Block Marh were also present in the press conference.
