BJP East Mandal holds workers convention | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) East Mandal held a day long workers convention at Brahman Sabha here today under the chairmanship of BJP East Mandal President Sunil Sharma. The convention highlighted the achievements under the stewardship of Jammu East MLA and former BJP State President Ashok Khajuria. It was informed that an amount of Rs 80 lakh has been spent out of MLA Constituency Development Fund on various development activities in Jammu East constituency. Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Khajuria said that he stands for the welfare and well being of people of entire Jammu region particularly of Jammu East Constituency adding that he is ever ready to render service to them. Khajuria asserted that his endeavoring consistent and continuous endeavour is development of Jammu East Constituency so that it achieves the distinction of being model constituency in the state. He also expressed concern over the ineffective and weak policy of the Central Government in tackling the terrorism. He also Expressing surprise over the proposed talks between in the Prime Minister and the Hurriyat, senior BJP leader asserted that such talks are bound to fail unless the nationalist people of state are also taken into confidence. He further added that 1994 unanimous resolution passed by the parliament stands testimony to the integrity and unity of the country by common Indian. He came down heavily on state administration for imposing charges on langars which were to be established during the Shri Amarnath ji Yatra for rendering free langar service to pilgrims. Earlier, at the start of the function Ashok Khajuria was welcomed by the City Unit of the party and silver crown was placed on his head in his honour by District President Jammu Rajesh Gupta.
