AWSC holds Annual General Meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: The Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens (AWSC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) here today at Amar Singh Club. Over 70-members, both male and female attended the AGM. Retired Chief Engineer V N Sharma, Vice President AWSC welcomed the members and thanked them attending the AGM. General Secretary, K K Mahajan read out the annual report of events held during the year 2009-10. R C Gupta, Treasurer presented the audited Annual Account of income and expenditure for approval of the house. Vikram Gour, President AWSC in his address stressed upon the members to take keen interest in the activities of the AWSC and come forward with suggestions to make the association more active. President informed that two welfare projects under the Government of India 'Integrated Program for Older Persons' have been submitted to the Commissioner/Secretary, Social Welfare J&K government for onward submission to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Government of India for final sanction. An application has also been moved for allotment of government land for construction of Old Age Home for senior citizens. He said that Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has assured us for land allocation.
