PDP demands early completion of Mughal road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, May 30: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today asked the government to gear up work on the Mughal road to complete the project at the earliest. Addressing a day-long convention of party card holders at Surankote, PDP general secretary Balbir Singh, except taking credit of the projects started during previous regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government, alleged that the present government has done nothing for the betterment of the people. He said that government has been taking claims on only those projects which was started by the Mufti Mohammad Sayed led regime. He said that it was all due to the efforts of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that Mughal road project was re-started but the present government has failed to further accelerate work on this project. He expressed concern over mounting problems of the common people due to indifferent attitude of the present dispensation, "This government has been functioning with out policy, programmes, performance and leadership" he said and pointed out that achievements of this regime were confined only to press statements and photo secessions. "Neither this regime can carry forward the reconciliatory process nor the developmental activities initiated by the previous PDP-Congress coalition", he observed and regretted that situation has been sliding back to pre-2002 situation due to wrong policies of this dispensation. Speaking on the occasion, senior PDP leader and MLA Darhal, Choudhary Zulfikar demanded that more routes should be opened to connect this part of Kashmir with other sides of Kashmir. He demanded that all traditional routes should be opened for the economic growth of this region. He also demanded immediate release of ration in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
