JPPF discusses strategy for resolution of issues facing Jammu region | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: The members of Jammu province people's forum (JPPF) in a meeting chaired by AG Kohli, president all J&K Seerut-ul-Nabi congress chalk out strategy for resolution of various issues being faced by the people of Jammu province and the core issues which came under discussion were appointment of local vice chancellor for newly sanctioned Jammu central university and imposition of tax on Amar Nath Yatra. While speaking he described the move of the central government for not clearing the stand on the Jammu central university which is a deliberate conspiracy to deprive the people of Jammu of their due rights and warned the government of India of serious repercussions if the decision is not reviewed for appointing a local vice chancellor for this university keeping in view the aspirations of lacs of people of the region as there is no dearth of academically sound people in Jammu region. It was unanimously resolved that the same be implemented without further delay so that Central University at Jammu can start its first academic session at par with central university at Kashmir. The speakers further demanded exemption of toll tax on langar items being brought inside the state by various NGOs who organize free langar during Shri Amarnath Yatra decided to take up the issues regarding Shri Amarnathji Yatra with concerned authorities including the governor who is chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. The house in unanimous decision constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Retd. District and Session Judge Pavitar Singh to coordinate with all the organizations of Jammu province effectively.
